Visiting Assistant Professor, Department of Physics/Astronomy

The Macalester College Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a full-time (1.0FTE) non-tenure-track position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor to begin fall of 2025. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching across the standard undergraduate physics curriculum including introductory and advanced laboratories.

ABD candidates will be considered; however, they must have their degree in hand prior to August 2025. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. In addition, candidates relying on an OPT Visa with a STEM extension are not eligible for hire.

The teaching load is five distinct courses per year, including courses at advanced, intermediate, and introductory levels. To apply, electronically submit a

Compensation and Benefits
