The Department of Physics and Technology at Berry College invites applications for a full-time visiting assistant professor of Physics to begin in August 2025.

The appointment is one year with the possibility of renewal. Teaching duties typically include introductory algebra-based physics (lecture and lab) and upper-level undergraduate physics courses for a total of 12 contact hours per semester. Interested candidates may have opportunities to supervise student workers or engage in outreach activities. While open to any specialty, we especially encourage candidates with a focus on experimental physics.

The Physics and Technology Department at Berry College is known for innovative pedagogy and collaborative faculty. The ideal candidate will demonstrate aptitude and enthusiasm for teaching in a comprehensive college with a liberal arts and sciences core, an interest in active learning pedagogy and student engagement, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that attracts and sustains a diverse population of students.


REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field. Applicants who are ABD should include documentation that the requirements for the degree will be completed by August 2025.
