The Columbia University Department of Physics seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in the area of experimental atomic, molecular, and optical physics. It is expected that the candidate will develop a vigorous independent research program, continuing the long Columbia record of forefront accomplishment in science. Applicants for this position must possess a doctoral degree in Physics or a related field and have demonstrated the ability to do pioneering experimental research as well as the promise of excellence in teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Columbia University values diversity among its faculty and the search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
