LEHIGH UNIVERSITY. The Department of Physics invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Physics, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. We seek a candidate who complements or enhances existing research programs in atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO), or condensed matter physics.
Candidates must have a PhD in Physics or closely related fields by the date of employment, and have a record of publications in top tier journals in their research field.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic department with strong research programs in a broad range of areas in physics (https://physics.cas.lehigh.edu). The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to expanding efforts in the area of quantum science, broadly defined, including quantum materials, quantum simulation and computing, and related research areas in AMO or condensed matter physics. The successful candidate will be expected to (1) lead a successful research program that can attract external funding and support PhD students, (2) teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level and contribute to the department’s teaching offerings in quantum science, (3) contribute to service at the department, college, and university level and support the University’s efforts relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
